The 1 st ever CFL Singles conference entitled ?SINAG?, unfolded on November 9-10, 2024, at the Athletics Village, New Clark City, Tarlac. Fifty of the most active CFL Singles leaders and members gathered for this memorable event. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement from the start, as participants embarked on a journey of spiritual growth and fellowship.
The conference kicked off with two inspiring talks. The first, Jesus is the Light of the World, was given by Sis. Mariles Borja, C4 Singles coordinator. She emphasized Jesus as the guiding light (John 8:12) and challenged the Singles, to let their light shine for others (Matthew 5:16). Her message resonated deeply with everyone present.
The second talk Liwanag sa Dilim was given by Bro. Jeff Luspo of CFL Cavite. His talk encouraged the participants to be a light in darkness no matter where they are.
Between the talks, the attendees enjoyed moments of fellowship through fun activities like games, a Scavenger Hunt, and a memorable bonfire. These moments of joy and camaraderie reflected the spirit of unity and faith that the event sought to foster.
The celebration of the Holy Eucharist on both days brought a sense of renewal and peace. On Day 1, Fr. Jessemar Mejia, from the Diocese of Tarlac?s prison ministry and Our Lady of Peace Seminary, presided over a heartfelt Mass and led a moving Eucharistic adoration that left many in awe. On Day 2, the community was blessed with the presence of CFL?s good friend, Fr. Joemar Sibug, O.P., the prior of the Convent of St. John Lateran and Vice-President for Administration at San Juan de Letran College. His homily inspired the participants to embrace their mission to be Christ?s light for the others.
Behind the scenes, the conference service team?led by Bro. Lito Gabriel, Bro. Alex, and Sis. Tog Montecillo?worked tirelessly to ensure everything went smoothly. Despite encountering challenges like a three-hour brownout, an aircon failure, sound system glitches, and even two health emergencies, the participants remained joyful, grateful and steadfast in their faith.
The weekend culminated in a touching commitment ritual and praisefest where each participant made a heartfelt pledge to be Christ?s SINAG ? His shining light. It was a moment filled with grace, as God?s presence was felt powerfully throughout the conference.
The SINAG conference was truly a celebration of faith, fellowship and the enduring light of Christ. It was a weekend to remember, inspiring all who attended to shine brightly in their everyday lives.
